Meet Dr. Scott
With over sixteen years of experience in mental health, Dr. Haley Scott is a Neurodiverse (ADHD, Autism, Anxiety & ARFID) psychotherapist and a parent and child relationship-based specialist within her field. Dr. Haley is a passionate advocate for working with neurodivergent children, teens, adults & families on their mental health and well-being. Dr. Haley provides Neurodiverse psychotherapy and brings a strength based, trauma informed and affirming skill set when working with neurodivergent children, families and adults with ADHD, Autism, OCD, Dyslexia and other learning differences.
For the neurodivergent child many times navigating through a neurotypical world in school, family life and social settings, can have the child feeling overwhelmed and disempowered. This type of masking can lead to depression, anxiety, overall stress and dysregulation at home. Dr. Haley can help by providing a safe therapeutic space for the child and family to work on emotional regulation techniques for the child, as well as the art of co-regulation by the parent. Additionally, providing strategies for executive function skills, sharing ways to increase intrinsic motivation, and open communications techniques for both child and parents.
Dr. Haley also works with adults that have not been formally diagnosed with ADHD or who have been diagnosed with ADHD later in life with other learning differences. She provides applicable everyday strategies to utilize at work or while at home.
Experience
Dr. Haley is a Licensed Professional Counselor, (LPC) in the state of Connecticut. She holds a Master’s degree in Psychological Studies from Cambridge College, as well as a Doctorate degree in Counseling and Supervision from American International College. Dr. Haley specializes in working with children, adolescents and families. Her experience extends to parent/child and family systems support.
Dr. Haley recognizes that there is not a cookie cutter approach to parenting and works with whole family system, utilizing a family centered focused approach. She also assists parents of neurodivergent children with any life stressors that may affect the child, family and (parents), the after school restraint collapse (when the child may experience a melt down after school), looking at how everyone stims differently in a household, temper expectations and how to address frequent flyer situations such as morning routines and bed time transitions.

Dr. Haley has training in a variety of best practice models for adolescents, children and families such as Triple P Parenting Program, Certified Circle of Security therapist, Yale Parenting Center (Everyday Parenting, Kazdin Parent Management certification) and Postpartum Support International (Perinatal Mood and Anxiety certification). She is also trained and experienced in using a strength-based client and family focused approach with a variety of treatment techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Family Based Therapy (FBT) and Solution Focused Therapy.
Dr. Haley's specialties also include working with children and families with Autism, ADHD, OCD, learning disabilities (differences), eating disorders, feeding disorders, anxiety and mood disorders (i.e., depression and bi-polar disorder) by providing applicable everyday coping skills for the child, parents and the parent/child relationship as well. (Neuro, BIPOC & LBGTQIA+ affirming).
