Lavender Meadow Psychotherapy Studio provides a transparent approach to client care. Our boutique psychotherapy practice is an out-of-network provider, however, we currently take HUSKY Insurance.

Although we only currently take Husky insurance, for the out-of-network benefits we are happy to provide you with receipts and documentation to submit to your insurance carrier for reimbursement. Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance (super bill) or employee benefit plan. Please review your coverage carefully and consult with your insurance provider. If you need further assistance please call our office:

Out- of- Network Benefits: With certain plans, you may be able to submit claims and receive all or part of each session reimbursed by your health care insurance provider. Check with your insurance provider to the first appointment to see if you qualify for this option.

Health Saving Account, (HSA): An HSA  can be a great way to help pay for mental health care expenses for in person or online psychotherapy. Note for use of HSA funds for psychotherapy, you will need to have a billable diagnosis, opposed to a general life stressor.

Frequently Asked Questions to ask your Insurance Provider

  1. Does my insurance accept superbills? You will need to verify this with your insurance company prior to the first session.
  2. What percent does my insurance company cover for a superbill, (100% of what you paid or some may pay 40-60%) and others may not accept superbills for therapy.

No Surprise Act Good Faith Estimate

Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act (PHSA), health care providers and health care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in an insurance plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their insurance plan or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services, to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” (GFE) of expected charges.

Note: The PHSA and GFE does not apply currently to any clients who are using insurance benefits, including Out of Network Benefits (i.e. seeking reimbursement from your insurance company).  This Good Faith Estimate shows the costs of items and services that are reasonably expected for your health care needs for an item or service. The estimate is based on information known at the time the estimate was created.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
  •  Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
